We have experience in managing claims for companies that manufacture rubber and plastic products, leather products, primary metals, fabricated metal products, machinery and transportation equipment.

In the field of transportation equipment, we have represented pleasure boat manufacturers around the Great Lakes, the Gulf Coast and the Atlantic Coast, as well as marine component suppliers, marinas and marine dealers.

Associated has also represented many conversion firms who manufacture campers and emergency medical service vehicles.

Financial Institutions

Associated has extensive experience in representing some of the country’s largest financial institutions in their roles as mortgagees, creditors in bankruptcy, trustees and managers of employee benefit plans.

In the area of bankruptcy, the firm has been retained by both debtors in possession and secured creditors, which appointments have been ratified by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

Houses of Worship

The firm has much experience in claims for church facilities, including auditoriums, classrooms, kitchen, offices, congregation seating, stained glass and fine millwork.

In the area of church personal property, Associated also adjusts claims for classroom furniture, food preparation equipment, libraries, church museums and office furniture.

Loss of Income and Extra Expense claims may arise out of the loss of worship facilities.  Income losses may include loss of tuition income, lost rentals or lost income from special occasions.  Associated has staff accountants with extensive experience in Loss of Income claims.

Specialty claims include electronic systems, organs, bells, carillons, valuable church papers and business records  and property owned by others for which the church is responsible.

Education

Associated has adjusted claims and provided risk management for public and parochial school systems as well as a public broadcasting recording facility.

One such system included 90 school buildings, gymnasiums, stadiums and other buildings.

Recreation

We have represented over twenty bowling establishments, including the largest bowling establishment in the United States.

In the recreation industry, Associated’s representations have included pari-mutual race tracks, country clubs, health clubs and a golf cart distributor.

Hotels and motels appraised and adjusted by Associated include independent facilities as well as national inns such as Sheraton, Days Inn and Comfort Inn.  Included in our hotel and motel representation are appraisals and claim adjustments for restaurants, recreational facilities and business interruption claims.  Associated’s experience includes resort hotels, roadside motels and high rise city hotels.

Extreme Weather

The firm has responded to widespread natural disasters, including windstorm (tornado and tropical storms), collapse from weight of snow, flood and freezing.

In one particular case, the firm was engaged to represent seven different clients with nineteen claims among them, all of which arose from a single weather occurrence.  Each of the 19 claims was a least a six digit adjustment and Associated adjusted these claims in a timely fashion, while the firm continued its normal load of other business.

Food Processing

We have a great deal of experience in grain, produce and meat processing.  In addition to the standard building, contents and inventory claims, the firm has achieved impressive results in business interruption appraisals.

Medical and Professional Services

We have represented a wide variety of professions, including advertising firms, architectural/engineering concerns, CPA firms, physicians, dentists and law firms.  Controversial issues may arise in such cases because of overlapping coverages for business interruption, accounts receivable and valuable papers.

A single engagement included the representation of twelve doctors with 25 claims for buildings, contents, extra expense, loss of business income, accounts receivable and valuable papers.

Associated is often called upon to devise a plan for maximizing the benefits of multiple coverages.

Retailers and Wholesalers

The firm’s experience includes small companies as well as supermarket chains, franchised outlets, national distributors, automobile dealerships and entire shopping malls.  Specific types of claims adjusted included accounts receivable, business interruption, extra expense, computers and programs, inflation guard adjustments, peak season inventory adjustments, multiple buildings and personal property, property of customers and reporting form adjustments.

Fine Homes

In this area, Associated has adjusted claims for the standard coverages of dwelling, personal property and additional living expenses.  In addition to the standard coverages, the firm has extensive experience in fine arts, rare collectibles, jewelry, furs, musical instruments and camera equipment.

Counseling

Associated has staff who are licensed to provide advice, counsel or opinion with respect to benefits promised, coverage afforded and advantages or disadvantages of an insurance policy.  The firm is often called upon to provide expert advice and expert testimony.
